WAA members will be viewing the Perseid Meteor Shower at its peak on the night of Wednesday, August 12th into Thursday morning. The moon will not be interfering with this year's shower. The maximum event rate, often between 60-100 meteors per hour, usually occurs after midnight. We will be at our usual observing site, the Meadow Parking Lot at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Bring a comfortable reclining chair (or even a blanket) and your eyes: telescopes or binoculars are not needed. The event will take place only if the sky is clear.
