The star party originally scheduled for Saturday, September 12th is being postponed because of inclement weather. We'll hold the event, weather permitting, on Saturday, September 19th at the usual spot, the Meadow Parking Lot at Ward Pound Reservation in Cross River.
On Sept. 19th, sunset will be at 6:57 pm, nautical twilight will end at 8:00 pm and astronomical twilight will end at 8:33 pm. The 6-day moon will be in the western sky. At 8:00 pm it will be at 22 degrees altitude, and will set at 10:41 pm. You can get a good look at it early in the evening and it should not be much of a hindrance to deep sky observing.
Bring your own telescope or observe through members' instruments.
